Day 2 (morning) in Vietnam – Train to Sapa

The night train to Sapa was remarkebly good, though I had set pretty low expectations. Its was quite comfortable and the train did not rock to much along the way. The train probably only averaged about 30 to 40 kph though. I managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep.
From the Cao Lai train station we took a bus up to Sapa (1200m) and along the way the scenery was really spectacular, it kind of made me regret not bringing the bicycle as we went quickly up the road. Riding on the bike probably would have taken over half the day though.
The 2-day tour that I signed up for seems to have me staying in a village somewhere which is a bit worrysome about cleanliness but will probably be a good experience.
Unfortuneatly it is quite cloudy around and the mountain views are not particular spectacular as the visibility is quite low. Hopefully as the day passes the clouds will lift giving better views.
