Bicycle for touring

I will have to buy a new bicycle for my one month tour coming up in a month and a half. I will have to buy a new bicycle.
Currently the brands that are looking good are Giant and Marin. Many people have said good things about both brands.
I am hoping that I can get a bicycle and and the gear (racks, bags etc…) for less than 1000$CAN (100 000yen). It seems pretty reasonable, especially since Okuchi whom I met yesterday managed to get his stuff for 90 000yen.
I will try and check out some bike shops this and next week.

Hi! Have you checked about Great-Journey of Giant?
As you know,I have many friends who have done an around japan cycling trip.
Most of them used the bike for their long journey.
It's not so expansive. But Its rims and spokes and tires are week.
I've seen that they had same troubles about wheels.
In my opinion, you should spend most of your budget on only the machine.
If you want to save the cost, I can lend my equipments. I don't have any plans to use them now.
By the way, did you send me a mail about Canada already?

I have checkout Giants. They seem to have a lot of good bikes in my price range. There is a good chance that I will go with one of them.
Thanks for the offer, but I would like to buy my own stuff because I would like to do many mini-tours in the future as well.
