Employee Suvery/Interview…

Posted on | November 9, 2006 | No Comments

I heard from my boss that there might be something called “Employee Interviews” in the coming months. I’m not 100% sure what that means but it sounds like a sit down with employee (about 25-30 of us) and talk to them to see how they feel about the direction of the company.

I see a few problems wiht that, I think that one of the problems might be trust. Can I trust the higher ups in the company not to attach my name to whatever complaints that I might have? Can I be 100% sure that it won’t be used against me at sometime in the future? The answer to both those questions would have to be “no”. However I would trust my own boss to conceal my identity, so that nobody knows who said what. My idea was that he write what we all say and put it all together so that it is impossible to know who said what.

I think that this is a great idea if the management actually listens to what is said. I think it is really important for people to feel that their voices are being heard. But this does raise another issue. Rumor has it that there was some sort of suvery a few years back basically trying to figure out what/where the problems might be with the company. However, according to the rumor, almost everybody in the company pointed the proverbial finger at managment, particularly the CEO’s wife. The response seemed to be pretty much ignored and such a suvery never happened again, until possibly now. I hope that our opinions do mean something.
